In an exciting chapter for Minnesota Myth supporters, we proudly present the strategic mind behind our team's future success—Head Coach Rickey Foggie. Hailing from Waterloo, SC, and the youngest of nine siblings, Coach Foggie's journey unfolds as a tapestry of triumph and dedication.
At Lauren's High School, he made his mark across four sports: baseball, football, track, and basketball. This foundation laid the groundwork for an exceptional career that transitioned seamlessly into the University of Minnesota, where Coach Foggie led the Gophers as the starting quarterback for four remarkable years.
During his Gopher years, Rickey graced several prestigious bowl games, including the Independence Bowl and the Liberty Bowl. His commitment to excellence, both as a leader and an elite player, secured his place in the Gopher Sports Hall of Fame.
Post-college, Coach Foggie's football prowess extended to the Canadian Football League and the Arena Football League, where he showcased his skills with notable teams like the British Columbia Lions, the Toronto Argonauts, the Edmonton Eskimos, the Minnesota Fighting Pike, and the New Jersey Red Dogs. Highlights include a Grey Cup Championship in 1991 and the Second-team All-Big Ten award in 1987.
Transitioning to coaching, Rickey became an integral part of the AFL, Arena 2 League, and high school football in Minnesota. His coaching journey boasts involvement with teams such as The Amarillo Dusters, the Everett Hawks, the Macon Knights, and the Kansas City Brigade.
Now, as the Head Coach of the Minnesota Myth, Coach Foggie brings a wealth of experience and a commitment to excellence. His standout performances, both on and off the field, uniquely position him to guide the Myth to new heights.
